Atmospheric information, for the whole planet
The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) is operated by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), as part of the European Union’s Copernicus Programme.
CAMS delivers consistent, quality-controlled information on air pollution and health, solar energy, greenhouse gases and climate forcing, everywhere in the world — combining satellite and ground-based observations with advanced atmospheric-composition models.
Air quality
European and global air-quality forecasts and monitoring.
Policy tools
Support for regulatory compliance and environmental planning.
Solar energy
Solar-radiation assessment and forecasting for the energy sector.
Ozone layer & UV
Monitoring of stratospheric ozone and ultraviolet exposure.
Emissions & surface fluxes
Tracking of natural and anthropogenic emission sources.
Climate forcing
Analysis of atmospheric components that influence climate.
From a European service to national capacity
The CAMS National Collaboration Programme (CAMS NCP) is an ECMWF initiative, endorsed by the European Commission, designed to help European countries make the most of the Atmosphere Monitoring Service and integrate it into national decision-making.
Launched in December 2021 and now spanning 26 countries, the programme follows a flexible, modular approach: each country selects the CAMS products and activities that match its national priorities, over a span of 18–36 months.
A single gateway for atmospheric data
Data infrastructure
Integration, processing and coherent distribution of CAMS products, with unified access to atmospheric information.
