The CAMS TROPOMI plume dataset also contributes to the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). IMEO plays a key role in global efforts to reduce methane emissions; an objective that can often be achieved more quickly and cost-effectively than reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the short term. With this latest update, the IMEOEyes on Methaneplatform, which already features TROPOMI detections, will now also display the shape and extent of the methane plumes.
